Media monitoring based on the results of the research project “Coverage of budgetary policy and its transparency in the media of Uzbekistan” was carried out by the specialists of the NGO “Center for Media Research and Educational Development” MediaDataLab in the period December 2020 - May 2021.

 

The project is aimed at studying the coverage of budget policy in Uzbekistan in local media (hereinafter referred to as the media), in online media and in some popular social networking resources (Telegram channels, Facebook pages). The budget is the most important policy instrument implemented by the government. The way in which government budgets attract and allocate funds and resources, revenues and expenditures, affects the well-being and development of both individual men and women and the nation as a whole. Budgets reflect the priorities and commitments of governments to society. Monitoring the coverage of the topic of state budget allocation is part of democratic governance and sustainable economic growth, and also allows you to strengthen and strengthen the mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating this topic among the public.
